What is missing
CMS suppresses any plan-county cell with fewer than 11 enrollees. Those enrollees are missing from these counts, so every figure is a floor, not an exact total.
2,244,911 plan-county cells were suppressed in September 2026.
What is counted
Counts cover Medicare Advantage contracts only (Local CCP, Regional CCP, PFFS and MSA). Standalone Part D drug plans, cost plans, HCPP and PACE contracts are excluded.

Common questions
Where does this Medicare Advantage market share data come from?
The CMS Monthly Enrollment by Contract/Plan/State/County (CPSC) files. Every Medicare Advantage contract is mapped to its parent organisation, then enrollment is summed by county, state and nationally.
Which plans are counted as Medicare Advantage?
Contracts whose CMS organisation type is Local CCP, Regional CCP, PFFS or MSA. Standalone Part D drug plans, cost plans, HCPP and PACE contracts are excluded, so the totals are Advantage enrollment rather than all Medicare plan enrollment.
Why do the county numbers not add up to the national total?
CMS suppresses any plan-county cell with fewer than 11 enrollees. Those enrollees are simply missing from the file. We show how many cells were suppressed rather than filling the gap with an estimate, so treat every count as a floor.
Can I see Medicare Advantage enrollment by doctor or practice?
No, and neither can anyone else — CMS does not publish provider-level Medicare Advantage enrollment. Carrier by county is the finest public grain available. Provider-level Medicare data exists only for fee-for-service claims.
How current is it?
The page uses the most recent month CMS has published, with the same month a year earlier for comparison. County penetration is from the CMS Medicare Monthly Enrollment file, which is annual and lags the monthly plan file.
Is it free?
Yes, no account needed. RepVector uses this plus sixty other public sources to rank markets and build target lists for health and life-sciences teams.
